What is Timba Family Plan?

Old Mutual Timba Family Plan is a funeral policy that offers a cash payment within 48 hours upon death to cater for funeral expenses for member, spouse as well as unlimited children below the age of 18. Rest knowing that you, your spouse and children will be laid to rest with dignity and love.

What's in it for you?

  • Pay affordable monthly premiums
  • Choose the cover amount that you can afford - anything between MWK 150,000 and MWK 1,500,000.
  • A cashback benefit - this is a lump sum that is payable after every 36 full monthly premiums have been paid. This cashback benefit will be equal to 3 times the last monthly premium we received from you at this time.

Your financial adviser will provide you with a quotation on what your premium will be. Your monthly premium will depend on your age at the time of applying for the plan and the cover amount you choose.

You can make a death benefit claim by contacting Old Mutual Malawi. A death benefit claim may be submitted at any time after the event of death of a Life Assured(the Life Assured is the person whose life is covered by the policy namely you, your spouse or your children). You will be required to submit the following documents:

Documents required in respect of the Life Assured :

  • Original death report
  • Proof of the Life Assured’s relationship to you, either as a spouse or dependent child
  • If the death was as a result of an accident during the risk waiting period, a police report

Documents required in respect of a beneficiary:

  • A fully completed claim form
  • Identity document (form of identification)
